Gold Cornice & Mirror Panel Wall

Project overview

The wall runs the full length of the hall, framed top and bottom by a continuous gilded cornice with a concealed LED cove above it. Two tall bevelled mirror panels, each set in a carved and gilded frame, flank a wider decorative panel finished with cascading crystal-effect strand detailing — a centrepiece meant to catch the cove lighting rather than sit flat against the wall.

Every joint between panel and cornice was hand-finished on site to keep the gilding continuous — this kind of wall doesn't tolerate a visible seam the way a painted wall would.

What was installed

  • Continuous gold-leaf cornice moulding with concealed LED cove lighting
  • Two carved and gilded bevelled-mirror wall panels
  • Central crystal-strand decorative panel, gilded frame
  • Fitted skirting radiator surround and floor-line trim
  • Hand-finished gilding and joint work across the full wall run

Why cornice and wall work travel together

A gilded feature wall only reads as finished if the ceiling cornice above it matches — different gold tones or moulding profiles between the two are the most common reason a "premium" wall still looks unfinished. Midpoint runs the cornice, the wall panels and the lighting as one continuous job for exactly this reason.
